A journey of a thousand miles began from a small town in Salem, Chennai. From humble beginnings,  Shri B Prabhakaran, Managing Director, Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ltd is today  as the media recently put it, ‘the mining Baron of Odisha’. A first generation entrepreneur, Shri B Prabhakaran, started his  career as a contractor in 1991after a college degree from Coimbatore. In a relatively short span time he has become a major stakeholder in the mining industry of the country

Shri Prabhakaran took up contractual mining assignments for various companies. He proved his mettle working on Breakwaters for the ‘Sea Bird’ project of Indian Navy , in association with L&T and Hochtief.

The visionary in Shri B Prabhakar prompted him to move to a remote district of Kendujhar in Odisha and it proved to be the turning point in his life. A self made man with a vision born from instinct and sheer guts, he ventured to a region, rich in iron ore deposits at the time when  iron ore mining was not lucrative enough. Contrary to the advice of mining pundits, he held on to his belief and eventually paved the path to establish Thriveni Earth Movers, a name to reckon with in the mining circles. 

A top Mine Developers and Operators (MDO) in the country, Shri Prabhakaran is not only  a visionary but also a compassionate human being. The CSR initiatives of Thriveni Earth Movers are praiseworthy and worth emulating.

Triveni Earth Movers has ushered international standards and socially and economically sustainable practices in mining. Today, it stands at the threshold of global recognition with mining rights for coal in Indonesia and providing ‘End to End’ solution in Africa amongst other international interests.
